Bob was born in Jackson, Mississippi. He gave his life to Jesus as

a teenager. Bob graduated from Tupelo High School in 1974 then attended Mississippi State University from 1974-1978, graduating with BA in Communications. While in college, he was very actively involved with Baptist Student Union, especially with international students and served as a summer missionary in Malaysia/Singapore in the summer of 1977. After graduating from State, he went to Wheaton College to study Cross-Cultural Communications, graduating with an MA in 1981. In 1980, he worked half a year with Miss Bertha Smith, retired missionary from China. Miss Bertha arrived in China right after Lottie Moon died. After graduation from Wheaton, Bob served in a small mission church in Bolingbrook, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago as Associate Pastor. In 1983, he went to Fort Worth, Texas to study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Master of Divinity (Theology) in 1986. While in seminary, he did an internship at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler working in outreach to those in multi family housing. Upon graduation, he met Linda Prevett in Fort Worth and they were married August 15, 1987. In March 1988, Bob was called to FBC Dothan as Minister with Single Adults. Within two months that, title changed to Minister with Single Adults and Senior Adults. In 1990, to that was added Media. He has been working with Senior Adults and Media since 1992. Bob has also led mission trips to Jamaica, Russia, Guatemala, Pittsburgh, New York, Chicago, Kentucky, New Orleans. Bob and Linda have twins, Eric and Elizabeth, born in 1991.

Bob felt God's call into ministry while in high school. God has led in various areas and in different paths in ministry which have involved preaching, leading music, directing a choir, leading youth, church planting, missions and eventually being here at FBC.
