Community Ministries had a great
summer.

Twenty-eight
volunteers conducted four one-week Bible clubs in four of
the Dothan Housing Authority complexes. A total of 160 children
attended the hour and a half sessions. The clubs used a
curriculum developed by Dr. Stan Sanford that explores God’s way
for meeting needs. The children received personal attention, a
bag of materials, and lunch. Twenty-three children made
professions of faith and forty-eight reaffirmed their faith in
Jesus.
The
Back-to-school pro vided 475 children with bags of basic
school supplies. Seventeen children received full list of
supplies including book bags, and eleven children received a
minimum of two outfits of new school clothes and shoes.
After School Tutoring will begin
September 18. Community Ministries partners with Selma Street
Elementary to provide academic support of Kindergarten, First
Grade, and Secon d Grade. Tutoring will continue every Tuesday
and Thursday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:30 on regular school days
until May 8. The after school tutoring program offers an
excellent ministry opportunity. For more information call Stan
at 792-3211.
